Roasted Cinnamon Rolls

Roasted Cinnamon Rolls

Roasted cinnamon rolls are one of the best things to have while camping during summer. Not only are they easy to make, but they are also delicious and filling. The best part about having roasted cinnamon rolls while camping is that they can be made ahead of time and then reheated over the campfire. This means that you can enjoy a hot, freshly-made treat without having to spend hours preparing it.

Cinnamon rolls are also a great option for camping because they are relatively mess-free. Unlike other desserts, such as pie or cake, there is no need to worry about packing extra plates or utensils. Roasted cinnamon rolls can be enjoyed straight from the foil wrapper, making them the perfect summer camping treat.

What You'll Need:

  • Biscuit Mix
  • Milk
  • Salted butter
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Pie Iron

How To Prepare:

It's helpful to start this recipe by preparing a couple of things before you leave for camp:

  • Start by mixing the biscuit mix and milk together until you have a sticky dough.
  • Spread a little flour out on a clean surface, and knead your dough just enough so it's not sticky anymore.
  • Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • Brush on the melted butter and then sprinkle it with the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
  • Roll the dough tightly into a log and then cut it into 1-inch slices.
  • Place each slice on a foil pie plate. Once it's full, just cover with plastic wrap, and then place the whole pie plate down in a gallon bag, seal it, and then put it in your cooler.

When you are cooking at your campsite, you can do so in multiple ways. We recommend using a pie iron though, as it's easiest.

  • Spray the inside of your pie iron with cooking spray.
  • Place 2 or more cinnamon rolls inside, close it up, and hold it over the grill or fire.
  • Cook the cinnamon rolls for around 10 minutes. Just check them frequently to make sure they don't burn.
